  1. I’m not sure what model it was, but I used to own a black shiny Hohner. Unfortunately I lost it on an outdoor weekend trek, so it’s somewhere in the mountains rusting now.

It makes sense there are so many models because they make them in different keys.
While I had mine , it was a beautiful thing to play and the tone was really pitch perfect. I think I may have to purchase again.

    1. Hi, thank you for reviewing my page on my website, Hohner harmonicas are still one of the best brands out there today, If you would like to purchase a harmonica again. I would suggest the Key of C Hohner Marine Band, or Hohner Special 20. The Marine Band has a wood comb not good for outdoor weather, as the Hohner Special 20 has a plastic comb which can be used outdoors. I play Special 20’s on the beaches of Florida without an issue. Depending on your need, here’s some choices, and pricing, you can purchase through my website click here>hohner harmonicas If I can assist you in any way please ask me!

      Have a blessed day!

  2. Larry, I’m not seeing the photos of the Hohner Harmonicas that you have placed towards the top of your post. Maybe it’s just me, but you might want to look into it.

I remember playing with harmonicas as a kid, but haven’t had one in YEARS! I’m planning to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail and this might be something fun to bring along. I think I’m going to tinker with that idea.

    1. Hi Eris,

Thank you for your comments, I’ll check that out about the pictures. If you do decide to buy a harmonica buy a plastic comb harmonica versus a wood comb, the wood harmonicas are affected by the weather, as the plastic combs are not. My suggestion would be a Hohner Special 20 Key of C Review on the Hohner Special 20 Harmonica has the information for you I was talking about. I checked out the pictures, and they’re are all there, must be on your end. If I can help you out in any way, please ask me.

      Have a blessed day!

Hello,Larry I’ve been playing Harmonica’s since 1980s..I Starter off in 1977 after my Late mother got me a cheap Toy Harmonica..I began in 80s with 2 Hohner Plastic Comb Harmonica’s in C & G Mood’s..They were 10 Hole Diatonic..Then later I moved on to Chromatics.. Presently at 49 year’s age I have about 8 Harmonica’s to tinker around with..In Chromatic I play (1) Tower 24 Hole’s which is the oldest(2) Hohner Chromonica 280 c 16 Hole’s with ABS plastic Comb(3) Hohner Meisterklasse 14 Hole’s which has Aluminium Allow Comb..
As for Diatonic in 10 Hole’s I am using (1) Hohner Meisterklasse Aluminium alloy Comb in G Mood (2) Hohner Crossover Bamboo Comb in C Mood’s(3) Seydel Blue’s Session Plastic Comb in C Mood(4) Hohner Pro Harp plastic Comb in E Mood..These Harmonica’s serves my purpose..I am not looking forward to purchase anymore like some other Harmonica’s enthusiast’s..
