Hello Harmonica Lovers!
I’m going to talking about, the (One and Only), “Original Hohner Marine Band 1896 Classic.” This is one of the first harmonicas, that hohner designed, that has been used by professionals, for years, for blues, and other styles, and is still being used today by harmonica players all over the world.
The Hohner Marine Band 1896 classic, has been the standard for harmonica players, for centuries from the birth of the blues. The Marine Band 1896 Classic has been played by iconic figures, such as Little Walter, Paul Butterfield, Bob Dylan, and many more. It still remains the top choice, for the top professional, as well as new musicians around the world.
The Hohner Marine Band 1896 Classic harmonica, can be played by beginners, as well as professionals. This harmonica has been recognized, for its full tone, and distinctive wood comb, that gives it a soft, warm sound. One of the drawbacks on this harmonica, is the construction of it, it has a wood comb, which is affected by temperature change, and cover plates that are not rounded off, so it’s hard on your mouth, when you play it, not a smooth surface.
The other drawback, is that it’s subject to weather change, even under normal conditions, it has the possibility of the wood comb, swelling and shrinking, which changes the sound of the harmonica.
