I Personally Own all 3 Harmonica Microphones and have used them all in live performances at one time or another. There all great harmonica microphones! But my Personal Favorite and I am using it at the present, in my live performances is the Audix FireBall V because of it’s wireless capabilities. I’m able to go into the audience and play my harmonica directly to them which seems to go over really big with the audience. It’s like there in the Show!

  1. How long have you personally played/been interested in harmonicas? Is it a life-long passion? Do you play regularly or used to? And do you have a good list of the TOP 5 ways/places to learn how to play harmonica?

I am also curious being I play guitar, is harmonica where harmonics comes from or does harmonica come out of harmonics?

Thank you for the site and very useful information,

    1. Hi Zack, Thanks for visiting my site and the nice comment. To answer some of your Questions I’ve played harmonica for the last 20yrs. I have been playing with my Cousin who plays guitar and sings in a band called the Cozmic Cowboyz for the last 12yrs. performing on the beaches of Florida. I’m 64 yrs. old an performing every weekend and thru the week sometimes. Harmonicas came from Germany at first. I have information on that subject on another post on my allabboutharmonica.com website. If you go to YouTube an type in Cozmic Cowboyz that’s my band. There’s just 2 of us but we put out a lot of music. Yes I can direct you to the right place to learn harmonica. Please come back more to come adding great stuff all the time?

      Have a blessed day!

  2. Hey Larry!

Great start to the article. There doesn’t seem to be any links though.

Aside from that, I didn’t realize there were actual specific mics that were solely for recording harmonica! Very interesting indeed..

Besides harmonica, which is really cool.. do you have any other experience in musicianship and instrumentation?

  3. I think the page was excellent for providing reviews on harmonica microphones. One thing you can improve is instead of numbering the pros and cons, you could perhaps put them in bullets and because I feel like that would be easier to read. I’m not saying it looked bad, the content is there but I feel like there should be more bullet-ed lists under the pros and cons. Another thing you can improve upon is the image placement. The images are good where they are but I think they should go on the right, right next to the pros and cons to show the reader the microphone that is being talked about because I got a little lost when I saw a picture under the description halfway through. Those are my suggestions and in no way am I trying to say anything bad.

  4. i really appreciate the depth of this review. I am a classical guitarist and I know how hard it is to find a good mic for acoustic instruments. I have been getting into the harmonica and I have heard a lot about the FireBall V and seeing it on your site definitely means I need to look further into this. Thanks!

  5. I’m playing blues with a sm58 and want more blues grit. Which mic has got it. Also what is the best blues amp for harp?

    1. Hi John, Thanks for checking out my review on best harmonica microphone review. The Sure sm58 is a good vocal mic but to clean sounding for blues you can use the sm58 for country, folk, rock or jazz. If you want the dirty blues sound the first microphone I show in that Microphone review is the Sure Green Bullet Mic.that is first one most people pick also if it’s not dirty enough the third Mic. in the review is a JT30 Astasic Mic. but those are hard to find. Another is the Blues Blaster you can see and purchase them through my website go back to the review and click on the highlighted text that says harmonica microphones that will show you a lot of examples and prices. Harmonica Amplifiers are on an earlier post I did on them. Fender Bassman tube amp would be my first choice also Fender Blues JR. or Hoodo Box blues tube amp also any tube amp would be better for the sound your looking for when you get to the review click on highlighted text blues amps at the first of the review click here Harmonica Amps
I hope I answered you questions John and helped you out and you find what your looking for through my website if not please let me know so i can help you out?
